WATERPROOF FLOORING GALLERY
During your search for the perfect floor covering, have you ever considered
waterproof flooring? If you have, it might have been followed by the idea that you might not really and truly need it. If you don’t live in an area that is prone to water damage, why in the world would you consider this floor?
We have a few ideas that might just make you think again about waterproof flooring. The benefits go a lot further than you might have considered at first glance, and we’d like to tell you a little more about it.
WHAT IS WATERPROOF FLOORING?
Waterproof flooring is comprised of layers, much like many other flooring choices, most of which are entirely plastic. However, the backing portion of most waterproof floors is usually made of cork or a plastic composite. Throughout the entire floor, there is nothing that can be compromised by water or moisture.
It’s also important to note what waterproof flooring is not. For instance, you might have also heard the term “water resistant”, which is definitely not waterproof. Water resistance means that the floor will withstand water, spills, and moisture for longer periods than some regular floors. However, it is still eventually susceptible to having the water soak through to create problems.
WATERPROOF FLOORING AND PEACE OF MIND
One thing is for sure. No other flooring can give you the peace of mind that waterproof flooring can. For instance, if you put a brand new water-resistant floor in your laundry room, you still have to worry about what might happen if the washer starts leaking while you aren’t home. Even floors that have a high resistance to water will eventually give under circumstances like these.
With waterproof flooring, however, you’ll never have to worry about such a thing again. Water pipes could freeze and burst, your water heater could begin to leak or a flood could even happen. None of these things will adversely affect your new waterproof floors. How much is your peace of mind worth to you?
